New starters joining the Trust before this time will commence on the old payscales and will move to the new ones once they have been finalised**Are you ready for the next step in your midwifery career?We are looking for a midwifery practitioner with excellent clinical skills and standards of practice with recent experience of having worked as a rotational Midwife to include antenatal, Intrapartum and postnatal care.The recruitment and retention midwife would support the clinical workforce, including newly qualified midwives, internationally recruited midwives, midwives new to the organisation and Maternity Support workers (MSW’s).We are looking for a hardworking, dynamic , inspirational, forward thinking midwife who can demonstrate experience of change management. To support and nurture junior midwives to ensure they build on the knowledge and skills acquired during their training to develop into confident and competent midwives. The post holder will create a learning environment conducive to all staff gaining the required knowledge and skills within their role to meet the needs of women and their families.Harrogate is a high performing maternity unit and we are seeking highly motivated individuals to contribute and develop the delivery of high quality, evidence-based midwifery care applying the trust values to your philosophy of careMain duties of the jobThis role will also provide pastoral care and be the point of contact for newly qualified midwives, internationally recruited midwives and MSW’s working as part of a collaborative working network with other specialist midwives and members of the senior midwifery management team.To support the retention of midwives, to work alongside all new starters in clinical practice, to enhance confidence, competence and the acquisition of new skills.The post holder will be required to work alongside the Professional Development Midwives, Professional Midwifery Advocates and core midwives, in the delivery of care and the implementation of the practice development agenda for qualified and unqualified staff working in Maternity Services.To support the delivery of a high quality, safe, personalised and compassionate care, the post-holder is expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate the values of HDFT; kindness, integrity, teamwork and equality.About usAt Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust we provide ‘outstanding’ care to both our patients and our staff. - Degree level qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Evidence of Ongoing professional training/ development
Desirable
- Working towards Masters qualification or equivalent
- Previous experience in clinical teaching/ supporting Junior staff
- Professional Midwifery Advocate
ExperienceEssential
- Experience in teaching and training facilitation
- Extended midwifery skills
- Knowledge of National Maternity agenda and maternity training standards.
Desirable
- Experience and knowledge of Clinical supervision
- Experience in staff orientation and induction
