Job DescriptionBehaviour Mentor – PRU
Do you have experience supporting young people who have struggled to regulate their behaviours? Perhaps you have previous experience as a behaviour mentor, youth worker, residential support worker, or teaching assistant? This established PRU is currently recruiting for an experienced behaviour mentor to work on a 1-2-1 basis with children who have been excluded from mainstream education.This role requires a behaviour mentor who has excellent communication and behaviour management skills. You will be joining an established team of behaviour mentors and teaching assistants who are committed to making sure that every child has access to a brilliant education, and they are able to overcome the behavioural and social barriers that they may face. - Managing classroom behaviours and helping young people to regulate behaviours.
- Acting as a positive role model for students, helping them to understand the impact that their actions have on other staff and students.
- Communicating effectively with students, staff and parents to identify the causes behind the challenging behaviours.
- Taking part in whole school activities, trips and reward days.
- Utilising a range of de-escalation techniques when required. Spotting triggers and helping students before they go into crisis.
