Look no further! Join our rapidly growing special loans team as a Credit Manager, Special Loans. This role is outstanding as it enables you to assess high-risk commercial portfolio files with sensitivity and precision, playing a crucial role in our Special Loans team. You will be accountable for supporting daily credit management, credit restructuring, underwriting, and risk management needs for high-risk commercial files.Areas of focusClient experience. Credit management.Underwriting and Credit AnalysisUse proactive risk management, including appropriate and timely monitoring, due diligence and recommendations on files $3MM and under. Opportunities will be provided to work on files of a larger size as the situation warrants.Complete all underwriting activities and ensure all aspects are accurately set up, updated, and reflective of the transition following prescribed processes and policies.Undertake due diligence on business plans and pro-forma statements, model impacts of restructure on cash flow, and recommend suitable solutions collaboratively with senior team members.Model all covenants and recommend amendments and solutions to assist in restructured transactions.Demonstrate skills in high-risk commercial account restructuring, providing creative solutions to meet client needs.Provide information to support recommendations to retain and restructure high-risk commercial accounts or to exit the account, based on CWB’s risk appetite.Use a deep knowledge of underwriting, financial, and credit analysis to be a trusted subject matter authority and advisor.Risk Mitigation and ReportingSupport the day-to-day processing and management of high-risk commercial accounts and the restructuring of loans to an acceptable level of risk or to improve recovery of capital.Complete all monitoring and control functions for the large commercial high-risk portfolio in a timely manner and coordinate to ensure timely reporting.Review sophisticated and critical commercial loans, perform oversight of watch loans, and provide assistance to Branch Lenders as required.Responsible for providing regular reporting to the leadership for high-risk commercial files on monitoring and controls for high-risk commercial accounts.Relationship ManagementSupport the critical nature of client relationships for identified high-risk commercial portfolios while upholding organizational values within every interaction.Navigate complex, highly critical, and confidential commercial client accounts with a focus on restructuring, retention, and rehabilitation, balancing the risk and interests of the organization.Maintain experienced knowledge of commercial clients and prospects, market, competition, and economic factors, in conjunction with a robust understanding of key business issues and trends.Who we’re looking for & what you’ve doneEducationUndergraduate degree or equivalent experience in commerce, finance, or accounting subject areas. ​Professional ExperienceFive to seven years proven experience in underwriting, financial documents, and credit analysis in Commercial, Real Estate, and Equipment Finance.
