This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. This role offers excellent developmental opportunities and is a great environment to build on your experience within the Substance Misuse Service. Hours: This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, working a variety of shifts between Monday and Sunday. Salary: This position is full time , youll receive an annual salary up to £27,195 per annum – depending on experience. How will we support you?Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training courseCompetency frameworkRegional and national career development opportunitiesOur bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needsSupport from the wider teamCandidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checksMain duties of the jobAs our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

  • Working within the Substance Misuse / Mental Health team, you will work with Nurses and Nursing Associates across the service
  • Provide outstanding quality based care to all patients
  • Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
  • Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics
  • Support the nursing and pharmacy teams on the wings and healthcare centres
  • Support the primary care team as necessary

  • Hold a NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent
  • Have experience in a care setting previously – ideally from a hospital or prison setting
  • Any experience in substance misuse or mental health would be a bonus!
  • Ideally second checking experience
  • Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
