As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll provide Quality Assurance support to the Infrastructure Directorate and its associated supply chain and projects ensuring compliance with relevant standards.Day-to-day, you’ll deliver business area support in the form of BMS governance, non-conformance management, organisational change management and improvement advice.

  • Working with other specialists within the infrastructure Compliance team.
  • Attending technical and organisational meetings on behalf of Babcock associated with issues affecting “Safe to Operate” as required and provide advice both written and verbal.
  • Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company’s cost, time and quality requirements.
  • Implementation of the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies in the Quality area of the business ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out which lead to safe working attitudes and practices.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2/3 days in the office/onsite and 2/3 days working from home depending on business needs.Essential experience of the Quality Assurance Engineer

  • Experience gained within a Quality Assurance engineering background working with a high level of developed knowledge, including Leading or Support auditing of Internal/External quality audits.
  • Demonstrable experience in supporting a range of engineering, process and quality management issues involving varied levels of complexity.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management & Quality Assurance practices as well as Quality Management tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of Risk management techniques, procurement processes, programme management, safe systems of work, Statutory and Regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with product Investigation techniques / Root Cause Analysis.

Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Engineer

  • ISO 9001(essential)
  • HNC in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent (essential)
  • Lead Auditor training (desirable)
  • CQI Level 3 Certificate, Charted Member of CQI (desirable)Train the Trainer (desirable)
