The Tropical Nursery is the largest glasshouse at RBG Kew with 21 different climatic zones. It holds one of the most diverse plant collections in the world. The collection plays an important role for ex situ conservation, research, education and display horticulture. (PDF, 120.86kb)More detailsOur ideal candidate will have previous experience of the cultivation of tropical plants within a glasshouse environment. You should understand glasshouse pests and disease management, tropical plant propagation and the general glasshouse environment. A passion for plants and a dedication for achieving high standards is a must.You will need to have a horticultural qualification equivalent to NVQ level 2 or relevant horticultural experience.To be successful in this role you will need to be a team player with good communication skills, and be able to work with a degree of autonomy.The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (RBG Kew) is a leading plant science institute, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and major visitor attraction.
