The consultant will develop written and audiovisual content for use in online and print campaigns for NewWork, UN 2.0 culture transformation, Transformative Spaces, Pact of the Future-related events, and other organizational change initiatives of the Analytics and Project Management Service of the Business Transformation and Accountability Division.Work LocationRemoteExpected duration6 monthsDuties and ResponsibilitiesBrief Background: The Secretary-General’s Common Agenda and vision for “United Nations 2.0” articulates the drive and impetus for organizational flexibility, agility, and transformation. The ability to deliver, to proactively respond to and even prevent future crises, depends on a fundamental rethinking of the UN’s organizational culture. NewWork is a grassroots community of UN employees who are innovating, collaborating, and adopting new ways of working. We aim to change our workplace culture and cultivate an agile, people-focused United Nations 2.0. Reporting to the Business Transformation Project Management section (BTPM) of the Analytics and Project Management Service (APM) of the Business Transformation and Accountability Division (BTAD), the content developer / writer will support the development of a variety of written and audiovisual content for NewWork, UN 2.0, Propeller and other organizational change initiatives of the Service. The consultant will develop content for the NewWork People campaign, to profile change agents/culture catalysts across the UN and will support development of communications products to support UN 2.0 exhibits and events. The Content Developer/Writer must have proven experience in communication, writing and development of audiovisual products; experience interacting with United Nations employees on issues of organizational change and culture change. The duties and responsibilities are as follows: • Lead the development of editorial calendar and launch plans for key campaigns linked with UN 2.0, NewWork and other change initiatives. • Develop written and audiovisual content for NewWork member profile campaign, Pact of the Future and UN 2.0-related event, case studies, impact stories, and other communications products • Conduct interviews of culture catalysts/change agents, edit videos, and prepare for publication • Prepare social media content to amplify storytelling and showcasing of impact to support Pact of the Future, UN 2.0, Transformative Spaces and NewWork events and exhibits.Qualifications/special skillsAdvanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism or a related field. A first-level university degree in the specified fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. 5 years’ experience in communications, audiovisual production and writing for the web is required. Experience providing communications products to a diverse group of clientele is requred.
