The Role: As a Children’s Home Registered Manager, you will be approved by Ofsted to manage a childrens home and ensure high standards of care are met, adhering to National Children’s Home Regulations (2015) and Children’s Homes Quality Standards (2015). You will lead the Children’s Home staff team, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children with complex needs, many of whom have experienced trauma and attachment difficulties.
You will oversee care plans, safeguard children, manage resources, and ensure compliance with statutory regulations and Ofsted requirements. You will also be responsible for staff training, development, and performance management, ensuring the team is equipped to provide exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and manage the Children’s Home team.
  • Ensure compliance with National Children’s Home Regulations and Ofsted standards.
  • Safeguard and promote the well-being of children and young people.
  • Oversee care planning for children with complex needs and behaviours.
  • Lead staff development, training, and performance management.
  • Manage the home’s resources, including budget oversight and health & safety.
  • Participate in the Out of Hours rota, including unsociable hours, as required.

About You: You will have strong leadership skills with experience in managing residential care settings for children. You will be passionate about providing quality care and possess a comprehensive understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Essential Qualifications:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services or equivalent.
  • At least two years’ experience in managing residential care for children.

Key Skills:

  • Ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Ofsted frameworks.
  • Strong leadership, budget management, and quality assurance skills.
