Requisition ID: 207815Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.As the Senior Manager, Mortgage Credit Controls, you will lead the Mortgage Account Governance Structure in Real Estate Secured Lending (RESL) and lead a team to investigate potential mortgage file deficiencies post-funding, leveraging analytics-based reporting to guide this work. You will synthesize the findings of these investigations into actionable insights, and use them to design and implement new controls, or enhance existing controls. This role will also lead and be responsible for the full remediation of any deficiencies identified through the account review process.Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:Lead a team to investigate potential deficiencies in funded mortgage files based on analytics-driven reportingOversee the synthesis of findings from these investigation and identify key themes in root causesDesign and implement enhanced controls to prevent future mortgage file deficiencies based on the root cause investigationsPartner with second-line (Global Risk Management) teams to pressure-test the efficacy of new controls and lead partner discussions with Operations and Technology teams to implement them.Design the remediation plan for any file deficiencies and lead the team to implement through to completionOversee status reporting and senior executive dashboard creation outlining the mortgage account review findings, enhanced controls, and any necessary remediation activitiesBe the point-of-contact for senior executive questions on the account review process and statusUnderstand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisionsActively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct riskChampions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environmentDo you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
