The Communications Team plays a vital role in mobilising the Irish public by increasing awareness, understanding and consideration of our cause, work and goals, among our target audiences.This is a specified purpose contract and this role works closely with colleagues from across the organisation, under the direction of the Digital Communications Manager, to communicate Trócaire’s work across digital channels. The role is primarily responsible for executing the organisation’s social media content and also contributes to email campaigns and website content. The role is based in Maynooth.The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver creative and engaging social media campaigns, including the ability to produce multi-media content, as well as having a strong grasp of digital communications and website Content Management System (CMS).Key responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of the Digital Communications Manager to deliver the digital communications strategy across all digital platforms.
  • Help develop and execute digital campaigns, both organic and paid, to generate high engagement levels.
  • Support in the management of Trócaire’s social media channels, including planning, creating and publishing content on a daily basis to deliver organisational digital targets.
  • Produce multi-media content, including videos and infographics.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organisation to integrate digital into campaigns, initiatives and events.
  • Execute email campaigns, providing input into content and measuring performance.
  • Uploading content to trocaire.org to best UX and SEO practice.
  • Regular analysis of digital performance, including supporting with monthly reporting against specific targets.

Essential Requirements:Skills:

  • Proven ability to engage across all social media platforms, with a strong understanding of platform algorithms and trends.
  • A self-starter who can identify innovative angles, opportunities and tactics to further enhance Trócaire’s digital presence.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate complex issues effectively online.
  • Photography and videography skills, including the ability to shoot and edit video.
  • Experience in the use of photo and video editing tools.
  • Creative storytelling and video editing directly within social platforms.

Experience:

  • At least two years’ experience in social media engagement for an organisation or company.
  • Experience in producing multi-media content, including video and infographics.
  • Experience of website editing, preferably through WordPress CMS.
  • Familiarity with social media planner tools is an advantage.

Qualifications:

  • Third level qualification in a related field and/or digital communications experience.

  • Strong team player who enjoys working cross-organisationally and building effective relationships.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and an eye for detail, able to adapt to new trends and digital developments.

  • Occasional travel throughout Ireland and to our overseas offices required.
