MUST HAVE experience in Canada and NOT architecture experience and currently resides in Canada.MUST HAVE 5+ years SINGLE-FAMILY, LUXURY RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR DESIGN experience and be AutoCAD proficient.Hospitality experience alone is NOT sufficientToronto-based luxury residential interior design firm that is highly respected for the caliber of its work and the kindness of its environment is seeking a local Intermediate Designer with demonstrated single- family, luxury residential experience to join their firm.The intermediate designer plays a critical role in the overall and day-to-day execution of our projects and operation of the firm. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:Leadership:➢ Participates in general staff meetings.
➢ Provide status reports to the principals and/or design director, as required.
➢ Maintains a high level of productivity
➢ Encourages junior staff to improve technical skills, product and industry knowledge, and interpersonal abilities.
➢ Participates in industry related events, as required.Design:➢ Prepares project budgets, as required.
➢ Coordinates with all departments on all project-related issues.
➢ Develops project schedules and timelines, and monitor progress.
➢ Assists in the presentation of design concepts to the client, as required.
➢ Monitors the quality and accuracy of production of all project details (including drawings, specifications, finishes, and furnishings) with the assistance of team members.
➢ Attends site meetings and monitors all construction issues with the assistance of team members.
➢ Coordinates and consults with all trades, supervisors, builders, and client representatives.
➢ Keeps the principals and/or design director informed of project progress and ensures their participation at key milestones.
➢ Assists with project installations with the assistance of team members.
