Our culture is a key differentiator and one we are proud of.The opportunityThe Sr Associate, Corporate Actions and Settlements will oversee and administer the processing of corporate actions and support in daily trade settlements. This is a highly collaborative role and the successful candidate will also engage with other functions within the team including mutual funds, pooled funds, GICs, and reconciliations. You will work closely with the Manager, Securities to coordinate and monitor work within the team and will also serve as trainer to junior members of the team.What you’ll be doingProcess and reconcile corporate actions payments.Review and interpret corporate action information related securities held in client accounts.Communicate with the Client Services Team and external contacts responding to transaction requests and inquiries.Support the manager in the overall operation of the team, coordinating the flow of work and communication and ensuring an equitable distribution of work.Monitor and periodically audit work completed by the team to ensure it’s completed within established timeframes, service level agreements and operational policies.Investigate and resolve errors and complex transactions, including discrepancies identified by Internal Controls or the Client Services Team.Train team members and ensure that the team is kept up to date on industry knowledge and standardsMaintain and develop procedures documents related to assigned activities.Participate in department initiatives and projects related to post-trade securities operations.Who we’re looking for & what you’ve doneForming relationships. You are adept at learning new software that you will use on a day-to-day basis.You are hardworking: Working towards results and supporting your team by offering support and accountabilityChange Maker: You are curious, gritty, focused, and not afraid to question the status quo.Core knowledge requirementsExperience processing corporate actions directly to client accountsUnderstanding of CDS and DTCC settlement processProficiency with MS Office suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.)Post-secondary education in business or a related disciplineRelevant “can do” experience5+ years of administrative experience in the Canadian securities industry at a brokerage firm or custodian.Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) preferredUnderstanding of investment concepts and operational procedures of an investment firm or custodian.Strong understanding of RRSP, RRIF and TFSA rules is an assetExperience working with GlobalPlus or FIS Unity is an asset.Some supervisory experience is an asset.Why work with us?Your success is our obsession!
