You will be instrumental in producing, analyzing, and reporting financial information for the business unit, which includes the brands belairdirect, National Bank, Scotia, and Servus. You will partner with actuarial and operations colleagues to support the business units’ operations and integrations of business acquisitions. You will interact with the business unit’s senior management team on a recurring basis.As part of the management team, you will supervise a team of accountants located in multi-locations while being responsible for leading the day-to-day operations, financial activities, and ad-hoc projects of the business unit. You will manage and present financial analysis in a structured manner to senior management. Being rigorous, autonomous, with effective communication and organizations skills are essential to succeed in this role.This position is open to any Intact office nationally.Key Duties:Coordinate review, reporting and analysis of financial results and forecasts on a periodic basis.Lead the expenses reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.Oversee the budgeting process for insurance results and expenses.Ensure the integrity, accuracy and completeness of financial data and information.Manage the month end closing process including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and controls.Develop with your team and recommend actions to raise standards and improve operational effectiveness and consistency by leveraging processes, technology, and/or people capability development.Manage and provide accounting guidance, with support from the national team on complex issuesSupport the management team with ad-hoc requests and projects.Provide leadership and continuous development to staff under your supervision, with management of recruitment, and performance assessment.Coordinate and improve knowledge transfer between team members and help ensure adequate succession.Maintain strong relations with internal and external stakeholders.Qualifications:CPA designation – is requiredMinimum 5 years experience in financial accounting, corporate finance, audit, or a related fieldInsurance P&C industry experienceStrategic thinking, strong analytical skills, very well organized and rigorousAbility to lead multiple projects at the same timeInitiative-taking, creative and demonstrate team spirit and “can do” attitude.Interpersonal communication skills: the ideal candidate must be able to build strong relationships while helping to drive strategic initiativesFor candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.#LI-HybridWhat we offerWorking here means you’ll be empowered to be and do your best every day.
