With this new engagement model, BDC aims to remove barriers faced by Indigenous entrepreneurs for access to capital, mentorship, networking, and relevant business education and knowledge.We are currently looking to hire a dynamic and experienced leader to fill the position of Manager, Indigenous Entrepreneurship. This new role was to showcase BDC’s financing and advisory services, and the successful candidate will act as a partner of choice in this regard. If selected for this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of senior advisors dedicated exclusively to supporting Indigenous communities across Canada. In addition, you will serve as the Indigenous Entrepreneurship advisor for your own region.Main responsibilitiesTeam Leadership: Oversee and support a team of senior advisors across various regions. Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members. Coordinate team efforts to ensure alignment with organizational goals and strategies.Regional Specialist: Act as the primary advisor for your designated region. Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities and entrepreneurs within the region. Implement localized support initiatives, addressing the unique needs and barriers faced by Indigenous entrepreneurs.Hybrid Responsibilities: Balance managerial responsibilities with regional specialist responsibilities, ensuring both roles are effectively fulfilled. Collaborate with other regional specialists to share best practices and innovative solutions. Contribute to the development of strategies and programs that enhance our support for Indigenous entrepreneurs.Align the vision and strategies of the indigenous team with the organization’s overall goals.Collaborate with key stakeholders to align goals and KPIs. Lead a team dedicated to serving and reaching the Indigenous entrepreneur community.Ensure the achievement of the team’s objectives and indicators.Support the development of new solutions and processes aligned with the needs of the community.Ensure compliance with business rules, policies and procedures, as well as high-level credit analysis and due diligence in connection with transactions.What you need to succeed in this roleBachelor’s degree in administration or any field deemed relevant.More than 5 years of experience in a financial institution in business development or any other experience deemed relevant.Leadership and experience in managing/leading a team.Proven leadership and involvement in strategic projects. Strong business acumen.
