An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Hampshire, Isle of Wight NHS Foundation Trust Community Urology and Stoma Appliance Prescribing Service (CUSAP)We are seeking to recruit a band 8a (1 WTE) 37.5 hours Clinical Lead Advanced Nurse Specialist to prescribe all catheter and stoma products and their related items to people within Fareham, Gosport and Southeast Hampshire. They will take the lead on the planned service expansion across the wider Trust.The role requires a high level of competence in prescribing; specific knowledge of urology appliances is desirable. The aim of the service is to provide clinical support to patients and carers and provide support and information to other health care professionals and advise on appropriate appliance usage. The role will require the clinical leadership and management of the CUSAP team, including Advanced Nurse Specialists, Integrated Self Catheterisation nurse advisors and prescription coordinators.The post holder will work closely with the other Advanced Nurse Specialists and Prescription Co-ordinators, to continually develop and promote the service within relevant NMC, DOH, RCN and NICE guidance.Informal enquiries call Rachel Daly on 07818594173 or email [email protected]Main duties of the job*To secure the highest standards of clinical care over the 24-hour period by providing management and leadership to professional and direct care staff within a defined area.*To act as governance lead and deliver the governance agenda to areas of clinical responsibility.*To support Clinical Leads to facilitate the development of excellence within clinical practice.*To provide professional advice and support to the Clinical Lead’s in a defined and to provide line management to a defined group of individuals.*To lead the expansion of the service across the Trust*To act as a service lead for CUSAP*Retain accountability for prescribing urology and stoma (as required) appliances and carry out patient reviews.*Support the team within NMC, DOH, RCN and NICE guidance*The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and management or the CUSAP service comprising a team of specialist nurses, ISC advisers and administrative support staff covering the wider Trust area.*In addition to leadership and management responsibilities, the post holder will continue to work as a specialist nurse within the CUSAP service and maintain their clinical knowledge and skills within the agreed scope of practiceAbout usHampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is a newly established organisation, combining the expertise and services of multiple NHS providers to deliver high-quality healthcare across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.With a dedicated workforce exceeding 12,000 staff and a footprint that spans more than 200 sites across Hampshire, we offer an extensive range of services, including mental health, learning disabilities, community, and physical health care, reaching diverse communities across urban, rural, and coastal areas.We are committed to delivering care with compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence, ensuring that our patients and service users are at the heart of everything we do.
