We are seeking a Social Media Lead, Communications, to translate the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s work into content that is made for social. From creating and implementing engaging social campaigns around key initiatives, to shaping the look and feel of our channels, liaising with teams across the Foundation to showcase their output, and covering our live events, you will work closely with the Communications Team to shape our public messaging, wherever it appears on our social media platforms.While you will work most closely with the Comms and Social teams, you will get to collaborate with teams across the organisation (including teams working on , , , and in our ) to devise new ways to showcase their work and achievements in relation to our overarching focus areas, in addition to leading campaigns for key initiatives, like our annual flagship event,This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic global organisation with a focus on social impact.About the RoleAs Social Media Lead, Communications, at the Thomson Reuters Foundation, you will:Plan, develop and execute the social media component of integrated strategic communications campaigns for the Foundation’s key initiatives, events and projectsWork with the Head of Social to develop and execute a social strategy for the Foundation’s corporate social channelsManage our corporate social media accounts and support senior executives with social output across X, Facebook and LinkedInDevelop and maintain a monthly social media content calendar.Work with teams within the Foundation to generate and implement content and campaign ideas that support the Foundation’s narrative and priorities.Identify sector influencers and work on strategies for promotional and partnership opportunities.Create engaging visual assets, including static and video content, using tools such as Canva and Adobe Premiere.Actively cover live events such as the Trust Conference, panel discussions, and webinars.Monitor and analyse social data, identifying successful strategies for optimised tactics. Provide monthly reporting on corporate social channel performance alongside insights into key campaigns.Support on our paid social media marketing campaigns.Support on community engagement and management.Develop creative strategies for growing the Foundation’s audiences in new focus areasSupporting crisis communications as needed, swiftly identifying, monitoring and reporting issues across the Foundation’s social channels.Provide internal guidance on social media best practice and upskill colleagues to promote a culture of employee advocacy.About YouTo be our Social Media Lead, Communications, you will likely have:Experience in a fast-paced digital communications role at an NGO, Foundation, newsroom, or public institution.An interest in and ability to process complex information about our focus areas and produce engaging social copy that is also credible and accurate.A proven track record driving growth on social media.Experience of covering live events on social media.Experience supporting crisis communications and/ or supporting sensitive communications across digital platforms.Exceptional written and proofreading skills, with rigorous attention to detail and accuracy.The ability to multi-task and manage a number of projects and requests from internal and external stakeholders in parallel.Video editing skills.Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Meltwater, Sprout Social)It would be great if you also have:Knowledge of paid social media advertising and analytics.Experience working with international donors.The closing date for applications is Friday 8th November.#LI-FP3What’s in it For YouAt the Thomson Reuters Foundation, our people are our greatest assets.
