Primary Purpose:PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONSupport the Climate and Environment Strategy Manager, with the corporate-wide greenhouse gas emission inventory and programs and performance improvement management. Support the Senior Manager, Strategic Environmental Analysis on annual sustainability reporting, ESG surveys, NGO engagement, and third-party reviews of Exelon’s sustainability performance, including identification and implementation of sustainability performance improvement opportunities. Responsible for implementation and maintenance of the corporate-level greenhouse gas data management system. Primary Duties:PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support Exelon’s corporate-wide greenhouse gas emission inventory and programs and performance improvement management. Support Exelon’s ‘Path to Clean’ GHG emission reduction plan, including data and activity tracking, accounting and program development and tracking. Support tasks required to maintain the Exelon corporate GHG emission inventory; Support ESG reporting related to GHG emissions, including the CDP Climate and Supply Chain Surveys; Assist in the management of climate change adaptation assessments and planning. Assist in updates, reviews and communications around Exelon’s 2c2i partnerships with emerging start-up companies focused on climate change mitigation and adaptation. (35%)
  • Support Exelon’s annual sustainability reporting, ESG surveys, NGO engagement, and third-party reviews of Exelon’s sustainability performance, including identification and implementation of sustainability performance improvement opportunities. Provide direct coordination support to the Senior Manager, Strategic Environmental Analysis for the development of the annual corporate sustainability report and other sustainability-related publications; Manage Exelon’s response to key sustainability surveys, such as the DJSI survey; Coordinate Exelon’s review and response to third-party sustainability assessments of Exelon, including by MSCI, Sustainalytics, Bloomberg, ISS and others; Benchmark ESG performance improvement opportunities and develop action plans to achieve increased performance by working across Exelon’s operating departments; Support NGO, investor and other stakeholder engagements on sustainability related topics; Assist in the management of cross-departmental sustainability and ESG reporting Councils, including establishment and tracking of sustainability / ESG key performance indicators. (30%)
  • Responsible for implementation and maintenance of the corporate-level sustainability / ESG data management system. Coordinate the review of Exelon’s current data management system for tracking GHG and water data and implement updated approaches to manage this data, including consideration of additional ESG data that might also be managed through a centralized system. Lead user training and documentation. Assist in the development, as needed, of management model documents related to ESG metrics and reporting; including coordination of approach with other Exelon departments, such as External Financial Reporting. (25%)
  • Support the Senior Manager, Strategic Environmental Analysis in responding to emerging stakeholder and regulatory developments related to sustainability reporting and environmental regulations. Participate in evaluation and considerations related to SEC filings (e.g., 10-K and 10-Q), and development of internal and external presentations addressing strategic sustainability issues (10%)

Job Scope:JOB SCOPEWorks under general supervision of the Senior Manager, Climate Strategy with the development of public sustainability / ESG reports, survey responses and communications that address Exelon’s sustainability management and performance in support of maintaining and enhancing the company’s reputation as a sustainability leader through demonstrated actions and results. Support programs and performance improvement through sustainability / ESG benchmarking and sub-program development in support of Exelon programs, such as the ‘Path to Clean’ GHG emission reduction plan and other programs. Updating and maintaining Exelon’s corporate-level sustainability / ESG data management system, including management model documentation. Effectively work with other organizations through influence to achieve sustainability performance and reporting requirements in a high quality and timely fashion. Engage effectively with senior leadership as needed. Provide direct support to the Chief Sustainability Officer as needed. Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-year relevant degree (science, engineering, public policy, sustainability or business) from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience including: Relevant data management and analysis experience (e.g., developing and/or implementing environmental information management systems; managing data collection and reporting in a matrix organizational environment; effectively participating on cross-functional teams and working with contractors.) Relevant experience with supporting the development of internal and external environmental communications, reports and surveys. Or in lieu of degree, 3-6 years of relevant experience as outlined above.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across departmental organizations on performance improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters-Degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field (e.g., science, engineering, law, public policy, sustainability or business)
  • Experience with sustainability performance improvement strategies and implementing sustainability performance improvement programs.
  • Familiarity with ESG standards such as the GHG Protocol, TCFD, GRI, SASB, CDP, UN PRI, and/or UN SDGs.
  • Familiarity with ESG ratings and databases (e.g., S&P Global/DJSI, MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, Bloomberg)
  • Experience in areas such as: sustainability target setting, GHG emission accounting, sustainable finance, ESG due diligence, climate scenario analysis, and / or ESG governance.
  • Background in the development of relationships with non-government organizations (NGOs) that result in collaborative outcomes.
  • Background in the electric and gas utility industry or other energy-related industries.
  • Sustainability reporting certification (e.g., GRI or SASB)
