Read on for full details and to apply!Description:The Senior Advisor, EMS Professional Learning and Development is a pivotal role to support a workforce of 3,500 front-line employees and 250 leaders. Part of an interdisciplinary team, this position leads initiatives to promote professional growth, career advancement and succession planning. The Senior Advisor designs systems to support career development and growth. The Senior Advisor conducts comprehensive needs assessments to design, deliver and evaluate targeted learning and development programs for diverse employee groups. This role is critical to achieve the organization’s strategic goals, leveraging expertise in systems transformation to sustainably implement provincial programs related to leadership development, career advancement, communication and teamwork. Strong communication skills are essential to engage a diverse audience and support both individual and group learning outcomes, including English proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, multimedia, visual media, social media, and content production. This position is responsible for the review and design of existing and new training and development programs for adult learners. The successful candidate will have expertise in curriculum development, adult learning principles, and evaluating the impact of training through competency-based assessments. Creativity and innovation are essential for developing engaging and effective professional development initiatives. The Senior Advisor will efficiently organize and manage learning programs and initiatives for a large workforce across a wide geographic area. This requires strong skills in strategic planning, resource allocation, time management, and the coordination of people and resources, ensuring the successful delivery of learning outcomes.

Required Qualifications:A four (4) year bachelor’s degree from an accredited post-secondary educational institution, with a focus in business, communications, social science, instructional design, educational psychology, or another related field. Four (4) to eight (8) years of progressive experience in management, teaching, training and development, or another human resources field. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the healthcare or public safety industry.
Additional Required Qualifications:This position requires expert experience in change management, employee leadership and development programming, curriculum design and facilitation; an understanding of how to apply and/or adapt best practices in a public safety culture, and innovative approaches to people experience improvement. Experience working in or supporting public safety personnel is an asset. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in communication, program design, adult education, and organization.
Preferred Qualifications:A Graduate degree from an accredited post-secondary educational institution with a focus in training and development, human resources management, organizational development, or business administration. Active certification with the Society for Human Resources Management, Chartered Professional in Human Resources, or equivalent.
