Position Overview This Senior EHS Manager role offers an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) function at a premier manufacturing site in Limerick. The successful candidate will drive the EHS strategy, manage ISO systems, and ensure compliance with industrial emissions licences, aligning processes with business needs. As a vital member of the Site Leadership Team, this role reports directly to the Site Lead, with a dotted line to external EHS leaders across the global network.Key Responsibilities

  • EHS Management System: Oversees the maintenance and continuous improvement of the EHS management system, ensuring full compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
  • ISO Standards Implementation: Leads the implementation and upkeep of ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001:2018 Safety Management System.
  • Compliance and Monitoring: Manages the waste management programme, environmental monitoring, and compliance with industrial emissions licences.
  • Radiation Safety: Leads the radiation safety programme, ensuring stringent adherence to safety protocols.
  • Training and Audits: Administers the EHS compliance training programme and conducts regular inspections and audits to assess system effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Reporting and Metrics: Prepares detailed EHS reports and metrics for both internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators.
  • Emergency Response: Leads the Emergency Response Programme, ensuring comprehensive preparedness for all potential emergency scenarios.
  • Incident Management: Oversees incident investigation processes, working closely with the occupational health team to reduce work-related incidents and ensuring compliance with OSHA and HSA standards.
  • Risk Assessment: Evaluates the EHS impact of proposed changes in plant, processes, and equipment, implementing actions to maintain compliance and control risks.
  • Legislative Compliance: Keeps abreast of evolving EHS legislation, ensuring site compliance with current and future regulatory requirements.
  • Project Leadership: Leads and supports EHS projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams and aligning site priorities with global EHS strategy.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Promotes a culture of safety and environmental accountability, working with site leadership and Global EHS to drive performance improvements.
  • Budget Management: Manages the EHS budget effectively, driving cost efficiencies across EHS services and equipment providers. Key Qualifications
  • Educational Background: Holds a third-level qualification (minimum NFQ Level 8) in EHS, Engineering, or a Science discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Industry Experience: Demonstrates a successful track record as an EHS Manager within a large Medical Device or related manufacturing environment.
  • Professional Development: Engages in ongoing professional development in EHS, with relevant professional body qualifications or accreditations.
  • Experience and Leadership: Possesses 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including 3+ years of direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Extensive experience in implementing and maintaining EHS management systems, interpreting regulatory requirements, and engaging with EHS regulators such as HSA, EPA, and local councils.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to lead cross-functional project teams, manage stakeholders, and influence at all levels within the organisation.
  • Decision Making and Collaboration: An autonomous decision-maker, the go-to person for team members, who works collaboratively to achieve goals and drive continuous improvement. Why Limerick?
