Job Description:We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Manufacturing industry. The role is based in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be expected to manage a variety of accounting tasks, including journal entries, intercompany transactions, financial reporting, and monthly account reconciliation.Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process a range of journal entries, including monthly and adjusting entries.
  • Manage intercompany accounting and transactions to ensure accurate and consistent records across departments.
  • Deliver accurate financial reporting, including expense reports and annual financial statements, in line with company standards and regulations.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliation tasks, including balance sheet and bank reconciliation.
  • Oversee the monthly close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Engage with the manufacturing processes to understand and accurately account for production costs and expenses.
  • Monitor and manage expense reporting, ensuring all reports are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Handle intercompany accounts, ensuring accurate and consistent information across all departments.
  • Process bank transactions, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Support other accounting tasks and projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in handling various types of journal entries such as general journal entries, adjusting journal entries, monthly journal entries, and month-end journal entries is mandatory.
  • Experience in preparing journal entries is a requisite for this role.
  • The candidate must have significant experience in intercompany accounting, including managing intercompany accounts and transactions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing accounting processes are required.
  • The candidate must possess skills in expense reporting, including managing and preparing expense reports.
  • Expertise in financial reporting is necessary, including the preparation of audited financial statements and annual financial reports.
  • Experience in monthly account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation is a must.
  • The candidate must be skilled in managing monthly accruals and ensuring the accuracy of the monthly balance sheet.
  • Proficiency in monthly bank reconciliation and managing monthly close processes is required.
  • The candidate must be adept at handling various bank transactions.

Expected salary

$38 – 44 per hour
