Who you are:The Institutional Relations Specialist reports to a Director in the IR Team, and is responsible for the day-to-day sales functions of the Study Abroad business for each team. The Institutional Relations Specialist collaborates closely with the other members of the Institutional Relations team, Enrollment, Marketing, and Student Ambassadors, to plan and provide a best-in-class experience for institutions sending students on CIEE Study Abroad.What you’ll do:

  • Work with institutions that make up the portfolio of Strategic or National partner schools
  • Report to the Director, collaborating and assisting the sales team with the growth of institutions in either portfolio
  • Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following, and exact responsibilities at any time will be at the direction of the team Director:
  • administrative management, sales enablement, on-campus support and engagement with students or partners, projects, and liaison with other CIEE departments.
  • Speak with institutional partners regularly via phone and email to develop trust based relationships across the university/college with offices such as StudyAbroad, Student Affairs, Academic Advisors, and Career Services, as well as support and drive direct-to-student outreach via relevant student clubs/organizations in collaboration with CIEE student Ambassadors
  • Through consultative engagement, work with the team and CIEE’s partners to understand their internationalization strategies
  • Represent CIEE at Study Abroad Fairs, Pre-departure Orientations, and other campus events, including CIEE office hours (both virtual and in-person)
  • Liaise with the billing and scholarship team to ensure timely payments of allCIEE invoices and any unique institutional billing arrangements
  • Maintain SalesForce CRM in partnership with Managers of Institutional Relations
  • Maintain detailed records of all activities related to institutions in a designated region and manage institutional profiles in CRM
  • Support coordination and tracking of Individual Site Visits abroad
  • Support logistics for Study Fairs- including but not limited to attendance, scheduling, RSVPs, deposits, training, shipping, and reporting
  • Actively participates in training and skill development, including – but not limited to – relevant, regional conferences. Support special projects as needed

What you’ll bring:The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent)
  • A minimum of 1 year of direct experience in admissions, study abroad, institutional relations, client/brand management, client services, student recruitment
  • A familiarity with CIEE, its mission, and its programs
  • Record of success in delivering innovative customer-centric experiences with measurable results
  • Strong project management skills including managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • A proactive, collaborative, and organized working style
  • Proven ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to quickly adapt and adjust projects to new expectations and direction
  • Deep curiosity; specifically, emerging study abroad & higher education trends and ability to integrate into client programs
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Polaris, and Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams
  • Ability to work with data and data visualization tools
  • Regular travel is required – as much as 15-18 weeks annually (30-40%)
