BILINGUAL SECRETARY- Economic Section

The Mission of Japan to the EU in Brussels wishes to hire a bilingual (French and English) assistant, (m/f) for its Economic Section.

Job description

  • Daily press monitoring on diplomats’ areas of interest.
  • Administrative and personal support to diplomats.
  • Working on agendas, appointments/reservations, receiving visitors at the reception.
  • Answering calls, taking messages, and managing correspondence.
  • Handling administrative procedures.
  • Supporting coordination with local service providers in daily life (in French).
  • Research of information.
  • Help for the organization of events.
  • Contacts with the European institutions and with the Belgian protocol service, etc.

Your profile

  • Excellent computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.).
  • Rigorous, detail-oriented, and very organized.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, dedication, and discretion.
  • Experience in an administrative/secretarial function.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English (C1-C2 level).
  • Knowledge and understanding of Dutch is a plus.
  • Knowledge of and interest in the EU institutions and their policies is preferable.
  • Strong interest in Japan (culture/language) as well as in the relation between Japan and the EU.
  • Understanding of Japanese working culture is a plus.
  • Work permit required for non-EU citizens.
