This hybrid role is responsible for monthly management accounting, business partnering with HR and the Payroll department, driving process improvement, as well as monthly management accounting and reporting.What you’ll be doing:This role will report to the Corporate Reporting Manager. Key ongoing duties and responsibilities include:
- Reconciling the monthly payroll changes and calculations, liaising with HR and Payroll to resolve any issues to ensure completeness.
- Supporting SSC team in producing and posting of the staff cost journals.
- Working with SSC in accruing/prepaying of monthly costs, preparing journals for specific departments and producing monthly reporting packs and commentary analysis on variances.
- Producing variance analysis on monthly basis against budget and proforma.
- Responsibility for ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and signed off on a monthly basis. That any actions resulting from sign off are completed in a timely manner.
- Recharging of staff and HQ costs to Group companies.
- Monthly management accounts upload to the consolidation database (BFC) and reconciliation to local ledger (Dynamics D365).
- Assisting FP&A in the production of budget and forecast models
- Supporting members of the team in their duties, journal checking, and approvals.
- Operating within a robust SOX control environment and helping to develop best practice.
- Taking on new responsibilities as tasks are rotated between team members.
- Ad hoc duties including checking payment runs, audit and tax queries, quarterly analysis, statutory accounts etc.
What you’ll need:
- An accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA etc.)
- Staff cost knowledge is preferable, but not essential
- Experience in the month end process, accruals, and prepayments
- Willing to help others areas during busy periods
- A change champion who looks at current processes and workflows and makes recommendations for improving them where appropriate.
