Applications are welcome from other countries with time zones that overlap with the UK’s Time Zone, where WVI is registered to operate.Please submit your CV in English.JOB PURPOSEThis role leads analytical support for Security within Security Safety and Resilience (SSR), ensuring alignment with operational needs and organizational priorities. It oversees security risk analysis, information collection, and metrics to enhance risk management, readiness, and agility. The role requires the strategic, tactical, and operational thinking to deliver comprehensive security solutions. As a member of the security leadership team, the role collaborates with SSR leadership and stakeholders to drive complex service delivery, balancing competing views and priorities. The role supervises the analysis team, provides security risk insights, and will actively maintain external engagement with the humanitarian and related sectors.SCOPE OF RESPONSABILITESStrategy Development:

  • Support the development and implementation of global security management strategies. Assist with ensuring security management procedures are in alignment with WV security policy and international best practice, legislation and regulatory trends.
  • Contribute to the production of operational metrics and reporting (demonstrating security value, return on investment and cost control) to track accomplishments against strategy, inform strategic planning and strategy execution and deliver improved security organisational effectiveness in support of Our Promise 2030.
  • Contribute to a strategy to ensure sustainable security funding by diversifying SSR funding sources through engagement with programme design processes, marketing and institutional prepositioning

Operational Analysis and Support:

  • Provide technical support to Regional Security Directors (RSD) in the on-going assessment of security risks and the development of security planning to ensure support resources are mobilised to address security gaps and ensure security business continuity.
  • Mentor, coach and facilitate the career progression and leadership development for members of the team, establish performance agreements and development plans with each direct report.
  • Lead in operational management (excellence in execution), develop ‘quality assurance and continuous improvement’ systems for security operational support functions and procedures.
  • Oversee the work of the team of analysts to provide effective support to operational contexts, with a focus on medium – high risk and fragile contexts.
  • Provide crisis management analytical support to RSDs, Regional line management and Senior Executive Crises Management Team (SET CMT) as required and support prevention and awareness.
  • Seek to develop agile and flexible security support operations that focus on delivery at the ‘grass roots level’ as well as informing and guiding at the Executive level.

Fostering Partnerships:

  • Provide cross-functional support and collaboration on joint-initiatives and projects where SSR is a stakeholder as well as technical support to other Regional, Support Office and Vision Fund entities as requested.
  • Strong team player with proven ability to collaborate constructively and find solutions to achieve objectives while building and maintaining good relationships at all levels. Regular liaison with RSDs and other key stakeholders.
  • Act as a strategic link for the promotion of a positive security culture connecting National Offices, Regional Offices, Support Offices and Global Centre. Regularly liaise with WV security network on emerging security issues and provide analysis on potential impact on WV operations.
  • Explore strategic alliances, actively contribute to partnership forums, working groups and networks related to sector improvement. Work closely with members of the Security team promoting mutual learning, support and accountability including close engagement with response security and security training for a joined up security approach.
  • Regular liaison with the United Nations security departments, other INGO security departments and agencies as appropriate, to include international security forums and security centres of excellence. This role will develop best practices and lessons learned while ensuring that World Vision’s approach to security analysis, particularly supporting risk and security management, is viewed as best practice

Capacity Building:

  • Support the SSR – Senior Director of Operations (SDO) in the assessment, development and implementation of global capacity building plans for security management staff based on collaboration with RSDs.
  • Identify, share/facilitate access to security tools, resources and materials as well as learning and support opportunities for offices. These may include facilitating and conducting training, engagement of trainers, establishing institutional links, identifying opportunities for staff exchange or mentoring.
  • Lead security analysis innovation, applied learning and Research and Development (R&D) using intimate knowledge of the organisation and security practice across prevention, preparation, response and recovery activities to identify approaches and target resources including outsourcing/insourcing options for greatest efficacy.

Knowledge Management:

  • Participate in the process of continuous learning on international best practice in security management and analysis and identify tools and processes that can be implemented into WV operations globally.
  • Encourage mutual learning on security issues within regions and globally to build a strong evidence base of our work. Facilitate the documentation of best practices towards a security community of practice and centre of excellence.
  • Take the lead in arranging SSR support function meetings in consultation with the SDO, bringing together staff for team building and planning.

Quality Assurance:

  • Support the security team by providing necessary direction and guidance on addressing quality assurance issues and needs related to security.
  • Make recommendations for improvement to security service delivery across the Partnership. Assist in the assessment, development and implementation of global capacity building plans for security analysis and capabilities.
  • Lead the review of security analysis products and services to deliver high quality analysis to all stakeholders. Ensure security staff, security SLT and Partnership leadership are receiving accurate, relevant, appropriate and informative analysis to support decision-making across the organisation.

General:

  • Possess professional maturity to provide counsel and expertise as well as actionable feedback. The ability to identify the highest leverage changes required and the self-confidence to work with senior executives, challenging their perspective.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, TRAINING, LICENSE, REGISTRATION, AND /OR CERTIFICATION:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Strategic Studies, International Relations or Emergency Management. Understanding of security risk management best practices.
  • 5+ yrs in a relevant security management role in INGO, Private Public Sectors or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of the humanitarian industry, humanitarian operations and field operations
  • International security management experience in a Regional and/or Global role in large multinational organisation.
  • Previous experience in the professional security arena (INGO, Corporate, Military, Law Enforcement, or Emergency Services).
  • Previous experience in managing and directing analysis capabilities in order to oversee the production and delivery of analytical products to senior leadership teams which directly support decision-making and provide operational solutions.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Recognized qualifications in subjects requiring applied analytical methodologies preferred.

Language Requirements:

  • High command/fluency in English both written and oral communication skills. French or Spanish will be an added advantage.

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement:

  • Work will be principally homeworking/remote. Flexibility in work hours is expected.
  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel internationally up to 33% of the time. Must be prepared to travel to ‘high risk’ security environments. Will be expected to manage high stress security events.
  • The position requires good physical heath and conditioning. May be required to stand/sit for long periods of time.
  • May be required to walk/run for short distances or travel over rough terrain. May be required to work in desert, sub-desert, tropical, or tempered environments.

For positions filled in the United States, the typical salary range for this role is $98,645 to $123,305 USD. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, job level, internal equity and budget.
