Because we believe everyone deserves a fair, secure, and fulfilling retirement.PurposeThe primary purpose of the Data Analyst is to work collaboratively with business users to develop report, dashboards and other data that provide actionable insight for internal decision-making, support our regulatory reporting and deliver partner reports.To enable this, the Data Analyst will work to specify, develop, deploy and maintain data/business intelligence products. The Data Analyst will also work to have a deep understanding of the source systems and business processes at Just as this will enable the production of high quality and valuable data products. Alongside this, the Data Analyst will work to elevate the data culture at Just by evangelising tooling, best practice and innovation using advanced analytics methods and tooling.Job Role AccountabilitiesTechnical Subject Matter Experience– To be a subject matter expert regards to the data analytics subject area relating to data product design, data modelling, Purview and other technologies such as the Azure Data Platform. SME experience with SQL Server Solutions is a stretch.Requirements Gathering – To work with business stakeholders to gather requirements which can be used for the purposes of data modelling and data product design and development.Develop Bespoke Solutions – To develop high-quality bespoke data solutions using appropriate, industry-standard tools, technologies and languages aligned to the organizational target architecture and data strategy.Technical Documentation – To ensure that high-quality documentation is developed, maintained, regularly reviewed and stored for all solutions developed and all operational processes.Metadata Management – To work to collect metadata which can be added to relevant systems and solutions to improve usability.Continuous improvement – Innovates by driving continuous improvement relating technical solutions, making appropriate use of new technology and recommending process improvements that will let the team to meet and exceed expectations.Quality Assurance – To perform peer reviews of solutions and documentation in order to ensure that procedures and standards are followed consistently. Continuously work towards the objective of building in quality and provide appropriately tested solutions.Operational Process Support – Support, execute and administrate weekly and monthly processes within the bespoke Financial Data Warehousing solutions.Service Desk Requests – To act as second and third-line support in undertaking tasks assigned via Service Desk.Stakeholder Engagement and Support – To engagement with stakeholders through various channels (e.g. surgeries, communities of practice) with a view data platform adoption and improve data maturity within the organisation.Cross Platform Knowledge- To be able to support, develop and maintain the Azure Data Platform and the legacy SQL Server Data Platform (SQL Server platform is a stretch).Examples of Key ActivitiesBusiness/process analysis based with support of business analysts.Creation of requirements documentation based on business analysis which will be used to enable data modelling, data mapping to source and data product designCreation of data product wireframes as part of requirements gathering process.Definition of semantic models that enable report development and self-service reportingCreation of measures and calculations within semantic models base don KPI definitionsGathering metadata from the business to add to both purview and Power BI.Participation in warehouse/data mart design collaborating with other team members.Creating high quality data products which enable end users to consume insight easily.Developing, testing and maintaining Power BI Reports, Paginated Reports and dashboards; PBRS/SSRS reports and Power BI Dashboards.Development of SSAS cubes as required.Evangelising the use of advanced analytics, best practice, and innovation using data tooling with the end usersCreating and maintaining the wiki and documentation for all development and analysis activitiesCreating and maintaining documentation to enable end users to better use the services provided by the data team.Supporting BAU operations as required on a rota basis which includes morning checks, managing the service desk queue and supporting out of hours testing as required.Monitoring performance and usage of BI products and resolving any performance issues or outages in a timely mannerProviding support to business users through the Analytics Community or Practice framework including regular surgeries.Carrying out ad hoc SQL queries for analysis and investigationEngagement as Data SME on projects to provide expertise on data requirements and BI development timelines.Supporting the business by flagging data quality issues and passing them to the Data Governance team for investigation and remediation.Attendance of all SCRUM ceremonies (stand ups, retros, refinements, PIP Planning, etc).Presenting to stakeholders as required.Continuous Improvements of the data platforms at Just; Collaborating with the wider data department on innovative experiments.Releasing developments and code into production environments.Skills and Experience​Experience of supporting end users in the adoption and effective use of Data, Data Platforms and Data ProductsDemonstrable experience with Microsoft, Azure and cloud applications and platforms.Demonstrable skills in the Azure Data Platform namely Fabric, Power BI, Data Bricks, ADLS Gen 2 StorageExperience with IT development processes and delivery lifecycles;
