Who you are:CIEE seeks two diverse, talented, high-energy, highly motivated, and currently enrolled undergraduate student interns for remote work. The Student Interns will assist the Vice President of Government Affairs and Advocacy (GAA) and the Advocacy Manager in updating contact databases; developing and sending outreach messages; and, updating annual state data sheets in support of CIEE’s international education and exchange programs.What You’ll Do:The primary responsibility of each intern is to create and provide high-quality work for the Government Affairs and Advocacy Office, to include the following responsibilities:

  • Primarily, update all Congressional and other stakeholder contacts in the Salesforce database.
  • Summarize and communicate international exchange and study abroad updates and industry issues.
  • Analyze and update state data one-pagers.
  • Learn and utilize with efficiency internal organizational and administrative tools, e.g. Microsoft Office, OneNote and Teams, Salesforce, Canva, SendGrid, etc.
  • Track federal or state policies and regulations.

What you’ll bring:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a four-year bachelor’s degree program. Preference given to those majoring in Political Science, Public Administration, and International Affairs/Relations. Will consider those with majors in Quantitative Social Sciences, Communications, or Sociology.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision and attend required team meetings.
  • Must be confident, communicate clearly, and demonstrate excellent judgment and intercultural competence, as well as possess proficient oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be attentive to project details, work efficiently, and complete assignments by the deadline.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and demonstrate effective project coordination, facilitation and implementation based on past work or school experience.
  • Throughout the internship, must be available to participate in once or twice a week team meetings as scheduled Monday to Friday between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm EST
