We are seeking an energetic, dynamic, and dedicated pharmacist with a background in clinical pharmacy to become part of our Women’s and Children’s Pharmacy Team at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The ideal candidate will take charge of providing a top-tier clinical service to the Women’s and Children’s directorate.The role offers the opportunity to work across Women’s and Child Health, including neonatology, general paediatrics, maternity, and gynaecology.This post provides a varied experience as well as flexible and challenging opportunities for personal and professional development in clinical, research, strategic and managerial skills. It includes opportunities to develop and influence care across wider areas of Child Health and Womens Health. The successful candidate will be expected to be a team player with clinical experience, excellent interpersonal skills, a strong desire to learn and a meticulous attention to detail.The post holder will be expected to participate in the evening and weekend working services.Main duties of the jobThe main responsibilities of the post holder will be:

  • Deputise for the Principal Pharmacist, Women and Children’s.
  • Act as a specialist role model and an expert in the medical management within paediatric, maternity and gynae patients.
  • Lead and manage clinical pharmacy services in conjunction with the Principal Pharmacist.
  • Act as a pharmacist independent prescriber to optimise the care of maternity/paediatric patients
  • Ensure a high level of clinical pharmacy input to the care of patients, providing interface and discharge liaison and support.

  • MPharm Degree and Registered Pharmacist
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification / experience
  • Registered Independent Prescriber or willingness to complete

  • Member of the RPS faculty

ExperienceEssential

  • Specialist clinical knowledge and skills relevant to area of practice
  • Demonstrates awareness of and commitment to the clinical governance agenda
  • Experience of protocol/guideline development
  • Experience in directorate pharmacy

Desirable

  • Demonstration of advanced practice using evidence mapped to the RPS Advanced Practice Framework
