Who you are:The CIEE High School USA team is seeking a Program Support Specialist, capable of mentoring a diverse team of independent contractors remotely. As a Program Support Specialist you will be responsible for providing operational support and mentorship to Local Coordinators (LCs) working with in-country high school exchange students. This involves supporting LCs as they navigate cultural adjustments, interpersonal and intercultural relationships, de-escalation strategies, and problem resolution. As well as, coaching Local Coordinators in managing relationships between students and Host Families, ensuring smooth communication and conflict resolution while overseeing essential tasks like placement paperwork, high school enrollment, and compliance with safety standards set by the U.S. Department of State. Additionally, the role acts as a liaison with Participant Services and is responsible for student moves. Within the team, you will also work directly with an assigned Regional Placement Manager, to collaboratively support the region’s placements. This crucial role directly supports program satisfaction and retention for Local Coordinators, host families and students.What you’ll do:
- Work alongside Regional Program Managers (RPMs) within assigned regions providing operational support to a team of Local Coordinators.
- Coach and mentor Local Coordinators in their supervision of in-country high school students including mediation between Host Families, Local Coordinators, and students.
- Monitors student safety and wellbeing in-line with the industry standards set forth by the US Department of State and acts as primary liaison with internal Participant Services Team.
- Responsible for coaching Local Coordinators to outreach for in-country moves.
- Work closely with the Operations team to manage the successful completion and flow of paperwork and compliance items.
What you’ll bring:The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent)
- Experience managing volunteers or independent contractors, preferably in a remote environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with regular shifting priorities.
- Ability and willingness to remain flexible, shifting between projects based on the seasonality of the program, as directed by the supervisor.
- Meticulous attention to detail in a very fast-paced environment.
- Strong, professional, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Intercultural communication experience is a plus.
- Fast learner of new technology, systems, procedures, and policies.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential.
- A strong knowledge of Excel, Salesforce (CRM), and other IT skills helpful.
- Ability to travel domestically AND internationally, several times per year.
