OverviewOur client in Kitchener, is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their team in a full-time permanent role and provide bookkeeping services and administrative support to the Property Manager of their commercial/ residential complex!Come join this established team and work from 9:00 am-4:00 pm Monday to Friday, with an hourly payrate between $25.00-30.00/hour!Bookkeeping Duties:Full-cycle Accounts Payable

  • Enter invoices/ payables to the computer system
  • Payables would include hydro, water, suppliers, contractors
  • Reconcile accounts at month-end, journal entries
  • Prepare government remittances/ WSIB payments quarterly
  • Prepare summary for accountant at month-end/ year-end

Full-cycle Accounts Receivable

  • Enter invoices or payments received into the system for rents and laundry usage
  • Prepare bank deposit when needed
  • Reconcile payments with auto-deposits
  • Reconcile accounts at month-end, journal entries
  • Run report for rents due for next month
  • Verify PAP set-up information at the bank for auto-withdrawals
  • Prepare summary for accountant at month-end/ year-end

Reporting

  • Prepare weekly cash flow spreadsheet for management
  • Prepare job costing report for contractor work

Administrative Support:

  • Support Property Manager on day-to-day admin needs as well as provide backup when PM away
  • General admin duties such as answer phones, filing, answer calls from tenants for repairs or general questions.
  • Help with tenant moves in/out by doing walk-throughs of units before/ after
  • Help with new tenant applications by checking employment, references etc.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Bookkeeping Certificate or other related education would be an asset
  • 1-2 years of Bookkeeping experience; 5-10 years would be an asset
  • Experience in Property Management bookkeeping would be an asset
  • Attention to detail and excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Great communication skills; able to communicate professionally with co-workers as well as tenants
  • Good computer skills with MS Office and accounting software; experience with Spectra is an asset
