  • Managing the utilization of FD RP Staff to achieve FD project requirements and milestones.
  • Ensuring that correct Radiation Protection instruments and techniques are being used to support decommissioning projects and meet the requirements of the CRL Decommissioning Facilities and Radiation Protection Programs.
  • Forecasting staffing needs.
  • Continuing observation and coaching, performance management, appraisals and evaluations.
  • Reporting routinely on topics of compliance, routine duties and Radiation Protection logs.
  • Providing advice on RP resource utilization and the latest technological developments in the radiation protection field.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
  • Secondary School graduation with Grade 12/13 advanced level with Ontario Academic Credits (OACs) in Math, Science and English or equivalent.
  • Experience
  • Experience working in a nuclear environment or equivalent.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Well-developed leadership and communication skills including the ability to develop a collaborative, team-oriented work environment in a unionized environment.
  • Ability to perform under stress when confronted with emergency, unusual or hazardous conditions and to lead others in such conditions.
  • Knowledge and application of radiation protection principles, measurements and contamination control to a Group 1 Radiation Protection level.
  • Excellent communication skills for report development, daily logs, Radiological Work Assessments and Radiological Work Permits.
  • Familiarity with CNL’s compliance programs.
  • Knowledge of Canada Labour Code Part II.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and waste management principles and volume reduction methodologies.
  • Knowledge of CNSC regulations and how they apply to decommissioning activities is an asset.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
  • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
