This is your world and your opportunity to transform it for the better.Brief OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Cloud Architect for our Defence and National Security business. Primarily focussed on public cloud platforms, ideally one or more of AWS, Azure, GCP and OCI, you will play a crucial role in responding to bids for new business, assisting colleagues in elevating their cloud skills and knowledge, and ensuring successful delivery of private cloud solutions. You will have solid experience of providing cloud solutions to customer problems, going beyond basic Infrastructure as a Service capabilities such as virtual machines. This is a senior technical position requiring strong commercial experience and leadership skills.Your role

  • Understand, develop and advocate our cloud offerings within the business.
  • Design cloud solutions to meet customer needs including stringent security requirements.
  • Collaborate with applications, network, infrastructure and operations teams to integrate private cloud solutions with existing systems and technologies.
  • Prepare RFI and bid response material, both collaboratively and independently, and participate in customer negotiations.

Provide consultancy on cloud adoption, transformation, security and migration. * Mentor and advise colleagues working on gaining or augmenting their cloud skills.

  • Provide technical expertise and support during the testing, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues.
  • Develop and maintain automation and documentation including architectural diagrams, standard operating procedures, and technical guides.
  • Keep updated on technologies, trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements: * Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions comprising a variety of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS capabilities.

  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and scripting languages for deployment and configuration of cloud environments.
  • Knowledge and experience of working to one or more recognised security standards, frameworks or benchmarks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications are highly desirable.
  • While this role can support hybrid working there will be occasions when flexibility is reduced to participate in collaborative teams. Candidates must be able to visit customer sites and work from our Basingstoke office as required.
  • Eligibility and willingness to undergo UK security vetting, ideally to DV level.
