Recruiter: Carla BallingerCareer Grade: COur hybrid working means in this role you are required to be in the office 3 days per week with the option of working from a place of your choice 2 days per weekWhy This job mattersThe BT Group Transformation Governance & Assurance team is part of the Strategy & Change (S&C) Unit led by the Chief S&C Officer, which in turn is part of the BT Group Corporate Units.One of the primary objectives of the Group S&C team is to accelerate and enhance the delivery of BT’s transformation. In support of this the objectives of the Transformation Governance & Assurance team are to:
- Equip ExCo and other leaders with relevant and timely insight on the performance of the portfolio of transformation programmes to ensure delivery, manage interdependencies and address risks
- Provide independent periodic assurance on select programmes over time to ensure information presented is accurate and identify opportunities for acceleration or risk management
The role works closely with the Group Transformation Governance & Assurance Director, Group colleagues and unit transformation leads as a key contributor to enable the desired levels of risk mitigation, and insight to govern the group transformation portfolio.Key elements of the role include:Governance
- Partner with the Group Transformation Governance & Assurance Director to ensure flawless and timely preparation, agendas and coordination of transformation governance, to prep CEO and Chief S&C Officer ahead of transformation sessions
- Partner with unit Transformation Leaders to implement and run local governance frameworks, ensuring consistency. Continuously improve these with experience and learning
- Maintain an active risk register, quality management plan, and work collaboratively with transformation programme leaders to address these
- Proactively manage ExCo actions ensuring that they are addressed as scheduled
- Maintain a bi-directional flow of information on Transformation to ensure ExCo decisions are cascaded and matters for ExCo attention are scheduled
- Partner with Company Secretary to integrate Transformation with the ExCo agenda
Leadership
- Provide advice and coaching on governance and assurance issues to the S&C teams and wider transformation professional BT-wide
- Drive knowledge sharing on emerging trends and changes in transformation principles and practices
- Partner on the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities to improve Transformation Governance and Assurance processes

The experience you’ll have:
- Building and maintaining governance frameworks
- Identifying risk and opportunities in a portfolio to drive discussion at ExCo
- Leading large streams on transformation programmes at scale through the full lifecycle, including those with significant technology components, focused on cost efficiency and business operation simplification
- Operating with a range of delivery models, including Agile, Waterfall and hybrids
- Engaging at an Executive level
- Managing teams of professionals
- Technology and telco sectors, including current and emerging developments around Cloud, SaaS and AI/GenAI
