Job Title: Management AccountantReporting to: Financial ControllerLocation: Marylebone, LondonWorking Hours: Full time office-based role. Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm
Company: Private Family Office (Portfolio of Residential and Retail Assets)Overview: A private family office in Marylebone is seeking a Management Accountant as they transition into a development phase and asset management. This role demands strong accounting technical expertise, a collaborative approach, an entrepreneurial nature, and the ability to provide comprehensive accounting guidance and support across the business.Key Responsibilities:Financial Processes Management:

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Assist in monitoring management approvals for fund transfers and payments and monthly reports on the financial health of each SPV.
  • Contribute to the implementation of banking best practices and process improvements.

Financial Statements and Reporting:

  • Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other relevant standards.
  • Drive improvements in the efficiency of the financial close process.
  • Monitor inter-company balances fund requirements and outstanding payments.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Assist with the external audit process in compliance with British accounting standards (FRS and IFRS).
  • Ensure audits are conducted in compliance with standards and assist as needed with annual and semi-annual forecasts.
  • Handle quarterly VAT returns.
  • Proactively engage with external auditors for timely resolution of issues.

Technical Accounting Expertise:

  • Stay updated on real estate industry trends and economic developments.
  • Monitor changes in accounting regulations, assess their impact, and implement necessary changes.

Internal Controls and Improvement:

  • Foster a culture of financial discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls.

Treasury

  • Assist with monitoring cash balances across the group and identifying any potential funding shortfalls.
  • Proactively engage and maintain relationships with banking contacts and assist with the provision of financial information when sourcing external debt.
  • Prepare the information required for the quarterly bank reporting. Ensure timely reporting for each SPV and ensure adherence to Income Cover and Loan to Value ratios in accordance with Facility Agreements.

Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration:

  • Work across disciplines and countries in accounting, treasury management, HR, and company secretarial services.
  • Utilise financial know-how to improve processes and increase efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Strong technical accounting expertise, particularly with IFRS and FRS.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, taxation, and audit management.
  • Ability to understand and analyse financial information.
  • Knowledge of real estate industry trends and developments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work across different disciplines and geographies.
  • Proficiency in managing external auditors and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Xero accounting software is desirable but not essential.
  • Proficiency in using banking software and technology.
