Applications are invited for a locum consultant to cover maternity leave at Bolton Hospital NHS Trust. The post attracts generalist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, with an opportunity to develop a variety of special interests.Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will participate in the general workload of the department including out-patient clinics and ward duties (obstetrics and gynaecology clinic activity), labour ward cover, maternity theatre and elective gynaecology lists, involvement in departmental risk management and governance.The on call duties will include working on a 1: 8 resident on-call weekday and 1:18 non-resident weekend rota.About usBolton NHS Foundation Trust provide services across the North western part of the Greater Manchester area ranging from hospital services in Bolton to community services across Bolton, Salford, Ashton, Leigh and Wigan. We deliver over 6,400 babies and carry around 1,500 gynaecological procedures each year. The Trust also has a tertiary level Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, enabling 1 in 4 women across Greater Manchester to receive in-utero transfer and birth at extreme premature gestation at Bolton.The aims of this Trust are to improve the health of, and provide the best possible care to, the population in which we serve and ensure that our staff has joy and pride in their work.   • MRCOG
