This role requires excellent ability to work closely with the program team, business line leaders, senior management, and diverse stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and effective governance. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Commerce & Operations.In this role you will:

  • Program Governance: Oversee the governance of program initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Facilitate strategic discussions, kick-offs, and regular team meetings at a high level
  • Budget Oversight: Track and manage program budgets, providing forecasts and actual budget reports to the program manager and/or project sponsors. Ensure financial accountability and transparency.
  • Executive Reporting: Prepare and deliver comprehensive progress reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, risks, and action items.
  • PMO Management: Manage and own the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring efficient and effective processes. Oversee the development and implementation of PMO standards, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Strategic Project Planning: Oversee the intake flow of new digital projects, ensuring efficient and high-quality planning. This includes prioritization, timeline management, estimation, funding, and resourcing.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, ensuring stakeholder engagement to drive value into program delivery while leveraging broader bank relationships, systems, processes, and knowledge.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance PMO efficiency and effectiveness within Scotia Digital and Scotiabank

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • Proven success in program management in a complex, matrix environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Exceptional executive presentation and written communication skills
  • Deep understanding of PMIS (Project management information systems) such as Workfront & JIRA
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic business environment
  • Results-focused, but understand that achieving results requires collaboration from business partners
  • Self-motivated; works both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams, as both a leader and team member
  • Superior critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Takes pride in being highly organized and staying ‘on top of it’
  • Project Management certification (CAPM, PMP, CSM) and/or financial industry experience is an asset
