Job Description:Are you looking to join a dynamic, family owned business where you can contribute? Do you have a strong background in A/R, A/P and general accounting? Our growing local client is hiring looking to hire an Accounting Coordinator to support their team.Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Coordinator will perform a variety of general accounting functions – with a primary focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collections.DutiesAccounts Payable:
- Match delivery slips, code, verify accuracy and post supplier invoices
- Perform supplier reconciliations and quantify any accruals
- Audit supplier invoices for pricing and mathematical correctness
- Maintain AP master files and journals
- Coordinate accurate and timely payment of invoices
- Monitor and resolve all account payable issues
- Ensure HST is properly captured
Accounts Receivable:
- Process new credit applications and customer setup
- Conduct collection calls on past due balances
- Prepare bank deposits and enter cash receipts
- Administer and record credit card transactions
- Review AR aging monthly with management
- Period end analysis and A/R adjustments
- Liaising with external customers, and internal sales and production personnel
- Generate invoices and account statements
- Perform customer account reconciliations on an ongoing basis
- Upload supporting documents and maintain related files and records
- Investigate and resolve any irregularities or enquiries
- Provide reports for management as required
General:
- Provide backup and support for Accounting Manager and Project Accountants
- Provide support during month end and year end audits
- Data entry of various kinds
- Other duties as assigned
TMGMSJob Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry
- Post-secondary accounting education in accounting or related field
- Communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
- Self-motivated, disciplined, able to organize and prioritize workload independently
- Proven track record of working successfully in a team environment
- Reliable, honors commitments, embraces individual accountability
- Demonstrates thoroughness, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines
- Previous experience working with ERP systems (Jonas strongly preferred)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Expected salary
