Job description

We are looking for a Floor Manager to join our Retail London Team on a fixed term contract.The Floor Management Team ensures smooth day to day running of our shops in Tate Modern and Tate Britain. As a Floor Manager, you will lead a team of Retail Assistants and Supervisors, motivating and empowering them to deliver exceptional customer experience. You will lead by example, by embodying Tate’s values and you will be and advocate for equality, inclusivity, and diversity.You will work as part of a team to deliver our departmental goals through three key channels – people, customer, profit. You will proactively coach and develop your team and empower them to deliver exceptional customer experiences in our shops. You will be customer focused, understanding who our customers are and what motivates them to shop with us. You will maximise commercial opportunities, working with your team and stakeholders to drive revenue generation.Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Passion for people. You excel at leading teams, you have the proven ability to motivate, inspire, and empower others to deliver company goals and you proactively provide opportunities for others to learn and develop
  • Communication skills and collaboration skills. You regularly and successfully communicate and collaborate with your team, internal and external stakeholders

  • Commercially minded, you understand what drives sales and engagement in our shops, and you use this knowledge to impact performance
  • You keep consistently high standards in all aspects of customer experience, stock management, displays and housekeeping
  • You will be an ambassador for the Tate brand, and a point of contact for both customers and internal teams
  • A proactive and flexible approach, in an everchanging environment you know the key to success is adaptability and a positive outlook

About the Role:

  • This is a full-time, fixed term role till November 2025, reporting in to the Trading Support Manager, London
  • You will work across Tate Britain and Tate Modern
  • You will work on rota pattern with flexibility working weekends, early morning shifts and occasional evening events
