  • Supporting both the Port Hope and Port Granby by Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP’s) about completion of all work orders.
  • Participating in the development of maintenance-related Integrated Work Control (IWC) packages as a subject matter expert.
  • Supporting the development of maintenance-related procedures and work plans.
  • Providing support to the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) Engineering Department as it relates to ongoing building and equipment installations and modifications.
  • Redlining of existing drawings based on existing installations or project-related modifications.
  • Providing Commentary or supporting the Engineering Oversight (EO) as required for all the ECC’s.
  • Being present for walk-downs of proposed Engineering Change Control (ECC’s) with Subject Matter Experts (SME).
  • Leading and Supervising a team of both internal and external resources in the execution of planned outage work at both the Port Granby and Port Hope Wastewater Treatment Facilities.
  • Coordinating with operations staff for plant configuration during outages.
  • Preparing detailed maintenance planning and scheduling for all outages.
  • Completing weekly Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reports at Port Hope and Port Granby and presenting findings to Waste Water Operations staff.
  • Having a designated review of all closed work orders and completing work orders at least once per week.
  • Performing regular audits on the open work orders to prevent any form from becoming overdue.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
  • Graduation from an Institute of Technology or equivalent. OR
  • Successful completion of a recognized apprenticeship and having a Certified Electrician or Millwright license.
  • Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years pertinent technical experience as a journeyman plus 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrated organization and planning skills with the ability to establish priorities, define action plans, set and meet deadlines, and monitor performance.
  • Knowledgeable in reading schematic prints for electrical, Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&IDs), and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) logic with Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Good working understanding of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing principles with a high standard of work ethic and excellent workmanship.
  • Communication skills both oral and written and a familiarity with business software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings and interpret complex construction drawings.
  • A willingness to undergo additional training appropriate to the position, e.g. Computers, quality assurance, applicable codes, supervisory and team building skills.
  • Must have experience with selecting and specifying process equipment relevant to Waste Water Treatment and maintenance management practices.
  • Must be able to understand and possess a working knowledge of Maintenance Management Software.
  • Have an up-to-date working knowledge of all applicable safety regulations and procedures regarding Wastewater Treatment.
  • A valid “G” class driver’s licence.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
  • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working Conditions:

  • May require the incumbent to be on-call and/or work extended hours, and provide emergency response during an off-hours emergency. It is a fast-paced environment, requiring energy, flexibility and an ability to work in a team environment. The scale and profile of the project necessitates a strong commitment to project delivery service excellence.
