The RSK Group is looking to recruit an experienced Environmental Advisor on a full time basis to join its management systems team to assist in the provision and continued delivery of solutions to achieve quality assurance in the company’s work, together with attainment of best practice in safety, health and environmental management. The RSK Group is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.The RSK Group is one of Europe’s fastest growing environmental, geotechnical and contaminated land consultancies, with offices in the UK, Europe and the Gulf. It provides a range of services for a wide range of clients within the property, manufacturing, oil, gas and energy sector.We operate a flexible working arrangement for many of our office-based employees.Responsibilities:
- Support the Environmental Manager with the implementation of the SHEQ Environmental Strategy to drive continual improvement.
- Support the delivery of key environmental programmes, including but not limited to
- the Environmental Aspects & Impacts programme
- Spill response training.
- Compliance with permits, licences and consents
- Delivery of environmental & waste audits
- Verify compliance with environmental legislation, permits / consents; and promote best practice:
- Conduct environmental related site inspections and audits.
- Complete environmental legal reviews.
- Raise awareness of key environmental issues / risks to the business.
- Assist with incident investigations, trend analysis and reporting.
Person Specification:
- Previous proven experience in an Environmental Management / Compliance role
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an environmental field
- IEMA membership is desired but not essential
- Knowledge and practical experience of environmental legislation and best practice
- A good technical understanding of key environmental legislation and guidance, including permits, waste management and pollution control.
- A flexible approach to work, both office based and on site, with the ability to travel with nights away from home to fulfil programme needs.
Salary and Benefits:
- £37,000 – £42,000 depending on experience and qualifications
