Job description

We are seeking to recruit a qualified Counsellor, Psychotherapist or Counselling Psychologist (BACP, UKCP or BPS registered, or eligible for such) to join our established multidisciplinary team working with students with wide ranging and sometimes complex issues. The role is offered on a part time, 3-day-a-week basis, for a 0.6 Full time Equivalent.About 70% of our sessions are ‘One at a Time’, and we also support students with brief counselling contracts, and sometimes over the longer term, both face to face and via video. Some counsellors also offer phone, email and IM counselling, but this is optional.We are offering:

What we are looking for:

  • Enthusiasm for delivering brief interventions, including One at a Time (OAAT) sessions. Training in OAAT can be provided by us.
  • Some experience of working in Higher Education, Further Education or Youth Counselling
  • Able to assess, manage and work therapeutically with crisis, risk and complex presentations
  • Integrative and flexible therapeutic approach
  • Able to bring new skills, life experience and fresh perspectives to our team
  • Understanding and experience of promoting the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda.

Core hours are 9am-5pm.
