Job description
Overview:The Senior Accountant will have overall accounting responsibility for multiple European entities. A portion of their role will include processing Accounts payable invoices and payments. Responsibilities:
- Overall accounting responsibility for one or multiple Cook Medical legal entities.
- Manage month end close and be responsible for the P&L and Balance Sheet of these entities.
- Liaise with auditors for yearend close.
- Close teamwork with external advisors and other finance teams to ensure statutory and tax reporting is completed accurately and on time.
- Process Accounts Payable (AP) invoices, payments and other standard AP tasks for an entity.
- Ensure AP invoices have appropriate approvals.
- Reconciliation and review of the vendor ledger and AP bank account at month end.
- Initiate and lead Continuous improvement activities
- Support Global General Ledger Manager with ad hoc projects/analysis or tasks as required.
- Ensure that Cook’s Code of Conduct is considered with in all business matters carried out on Cook’s behalf.
Qualifications:
- Degree educated and Accounting qualification required (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- 3-5 years post qualification experience.
- Experience working in a multi-national corporation environment beneficial.
- Previously trained within a Top 10 or Big 4 firm up to manager level, advantageous.
- ERP system implementation experience a strong advantage.
- EMEA Statutory Accounting Expertise.
- Track record of Continuous Improvement.
- Ability to work independently and self-manage various projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing and cross-functional teamwork skills.
- Fluency in one or more European languages (other than English) an advantage.
- Willingness and availability to travel on company business.
