Ash Surgery is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to be part of our extremely busy clinical Admin team.As Clinical Coder/Administrator you will provide an invaluable link between the third-party information that comes into the Practice on a daily basis and the patients electronic records. If you have accurate keyboard and IT skills and have an understanding of medical terminology, then this could be the job for you!ExperiencePrevious experience as a coder or medical notes summarizer is ideal but not essential.This role may also suit someone with previous nursing or clinical experienceMain duties of the jobThe Clinical Coder will be responsible for assigning the correct codes to a patient’s record in terms of medical diagnosis, service received as well as ensuring relevant documentation of procedures is attached to the record. They will ensure the codes are applied correctly.About usAsh Surgery is a traditional GP Practice, set in the heart of rural East Kent, close to the city of Canterbury.   • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality in the workplace and being able to follow data protection policies and guidelines

  • Ability to create searches within the clinical system and conduct basic audits as of when required.
  • Experience with Ardens template
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Ability to work autonomously in a very busy role
  • Ability to prioritise work when under pressure is essential.
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality in the workplace and being able to follow data protection policies and guidelines

  • G.C.S.E Science or “A” Level Biology or equivalent
