Do you have an interest in Developmental Language Disorder? Are you interested in working in mainstream primary schools? We’d love for you to join us! We have a full-time job, which is made up of 3 days in a Language Resource Provision (LRP) and 2 days in our primary school buy in and/or assessment service. He / she works as a member of the team that provides support to children in mainstream primary and secondary schools, across language resource provisions and alternative provisions.   • Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Registered member of HCPC
  • Member of RCSLT
  • To have undertaken post-graduate study or had relevant experience in: otheories, assessment and therapy techniques / approaches for children with complex communication disorders oimplications for delays / disorders within an educational setting

Desirable

  • To have undertaken post-graduate study or had relevant experience in: ospecial educational issues for client groups

ExperienceEssential

  • Experience of working with a range of communication disorders in children, in community clinics and /or educational establishments.
  • Experience of working to provide the Special Educational Needs service with statutory assessment information
  • Experience of ensuring health and safety standards are followed
  • Experience of working collaboratively with a range of professionals to provide direct and indirect intervention for the client group.

Desirable

  • Clinical experience of working with bilingual families in deprived socio-economic inner city areas
  • Experience of providing training to education and health staff and parents and carers

KnowledgeEssential

  • Up-to-date knowledge of research relating to children with speech and language disorders
  • Awareness of principles of clinical governance
  • Developed negotiating and problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of the roles of other professionals working with specialist client group
