Position HighlightsThe Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor position (tenure track) to begin in August 2025. We seek a candidate in the broadly defined area of the Genomics of Resilience. We welcome those using ecological and evolutionary genomic approaches to understand how species adapt to rapid change and stress in the environment, including stressors caused by climate change, urbanization, species translocations, and more. Areas of interest include the intersection of genomics and organismal physiology, and the resilience of organisms to disease or aging. We are interested in candidates working on any study system, including classical model systems, crops, or natural study systems. We encourage research programs that involve local or regional systems and leverage the university’s experimental and computational resources.Founded in 1975, the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona was among the first departments of its kind in the world, pioneering a model for the organization of biology that is now in use in many of the world’s leading universities. Our focus is broad, spanning levels of organization from molecular genetics and organismal function as they relate to evolution and ecology, from population and community ecology to biological diversity, phylogeny, and macroevolution. Duties & Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a competitive research program.
• Teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels and contribute to mentoring students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds.
• Participate in outreach and contribute to departmental, college and university service.
• Develop innovative approaches to enhancing student engagement, increasing diversity, and expanding collaborations with community and business partners.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology or in a related terminal discipline; the selected candidate must have a conferred Ph.D. upon hire.
• Research experience in Ecological or Evolutionary Genomics
