We are a matrix engineering and technology organization so you will touch multiple programs over your career!What You Will Be DoingAs a Mechanical Engineering Associate Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:-Management and development of their team, support of department initiatives and directorate undertakings, and driving technical excellence, affordability, and program execution.
-Providing technical coaching and mentoring, work assignments, employee career development, continuous ongoing feedback, and being their employees advocate in opportunity discussions.
-Selection and training, performance assessments, salary planning, recognition/disciplinary actions, and engineering competency development of their team.
-Supporting program development, execution of program requirements, and adherence to engineering development processes, promoting customer focus, and serving as the technical conscience for their program.
-Encouragement of cross-program knowledge transfer between the various production and development efforts underway to ensure best practice processes are shared, overall Mechanical Engineering effort is monitored and resources properly allocated to support production programs, Mechanical Engineering leadership on all program issues, and acting as the focal point for Engineering effort on bid and proposal (B&P) activities for cost proposals and other mission area initiatives/IRAD efforts.It is possible that travel will be required to both customer and supplier sites. It is possible that travel will be both within and outside the Continental United States (CONUS).Telecommuting opportunities can vary depending on daily tasking. -Mechanical engineering design and/or analysis experience.
-Engineering management or Engineering team lead experience including task planning, budget management, subcontract management and/or employee development and mentoring
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-Basis of Estimate (BOE) Development
– Control Account Manager (CAM) experience.
-Working experience and requirements knowledge for the development of mechanical designs for Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant (NNPP) and Commercial Energy Instrumentation and Control (I&C) equipment, and Precision Guided Systems (PGS) products.
– Experience/knowledge of CREO and/or CATIA design tools.
– Experience/knowledge of ANSA analysis tools.
