Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?General Ledger Governance and Advisory (GL G&A) is the Center of Excellence for Attestation Administration and owner of the GL Attestation Policy and GL Attestation system. The Manager, GL G&A will be responsible for managing the monthly GL Attestation process for assigned regions and platforms within RBC Enterprise, providing guidance on the Enterprise GL Attestation Policy. Continuously improve reporting by simplifying existing processes and creating Tableau dashboards to help internal clients visualize their monthly results.What you will do?
- Manage the subledger/EGL Balance Sheet Attestation workflow and provide value added monthly reporting to senior finance executives and Financial Control teams using the reports published on the Tableau Server.
- Develop Tableau reports to provide our client with the best advisory through near real time data analytics.
- Monitor and analyze monthly attestation results to identify underlying data patterns.
- Complete monthly ownership to ensure EGL accounts and/or subledgers are assigned for attestation.
- Perform monthly verifications to ensure the completeness and accuracy of data fed to the GL Attestation database.
- Support GL Attestation users and assist them in the resolution of PEGA system related issues.
- Facilitate training sessions on GL Attestation Policy, GL Attestation System and usage of GL G&A’s Tableau Server.
- Monitor implementation of Policy for assigned regions and platforms to ensure compliance with the Enterprise General Ledger Attestation Policy.
- Assist with system upgrades by performing UAT and PIV testing to improve reporting capabilities and enhance user experience.
- Collaborate with the Finance Process Automation team to implement and maintain RPA processes to provide clients with timely and accurate deliverables.
- Actively explore continuous improvement opportunities in existing processes and automate where applicable (RPA, Tableau, Data360, VBA, Power Queries, SQL, etc.)
- Support a One RBC approach to navigating peak periods by providing targeted support on other CCO initiatives as needed.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects as directed by Senior Manager, General Ledger Governance and Advisory.
What you need to succeed?Must Have
- Undergraduate university degree
- 3+ years of experience in Financial Services Industry
- Initiative and ability to drive issues to conclusion coupled with strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid relationship management skills since frequent interaction with key contacts is necessary to be successful in this role.
- Sense of urgency and ability to handle demands from multiple directions amidst competing deadlines
- Advanced user proficiency with computer applications, such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with data visualization applications.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data bases and preparation of data using SQL
- Experience with Tableau
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of RBC financial systems and associated procedures
- Accounting designation or data analytics certification
- IFRS knowledge
