Job Summary Support the North American Settlements Department by learning, improving, and covering processes and desks as needed. With extensive knowledge of the job and policies/practices, performs a wide range of advanced administrative/operational assignments and supports ad hoc projects.Job DescriptionPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Remain up to date on a minimum of 3 of desks so as to be able to back fill throughout the yearAssist with training and onboarding of new staffAid in managing volumes and organizing workflowWork constructively with teams across multiple business entities in a fast paced environmentProcess the settlements of North American Fixed Income & Equity Securities and handle all trade exceptions on a timely basisReconcile cash and position breaks related to settlementsPossess good knowledge of the products and systems required to accomplish daily responsibilities (CDS, DTC, APEX, ICI IMPACT, BPS, etc.)Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, standards and guidelines instructions and ensures processes and controls are in place to minimize operations riskOn an ongoing basis will assist Managers, Canadian Securities Settlements with any ad hoc requirements / tasksEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
RequiredUndergraduate Degree / College Diploma or Equivalent Work ExperienceStrong customer service skillsStrong communication skillsStrong risk management skills, including ability to determine when something should be escalated effective problem identification and resolution skillsStrong organizational skills with attention to detailAbility to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently as requiredAbility to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced pressured environmentAbility to quickly respond to changes in routine without major errors or disruptions to supported business unitsAbility to work effectively with a variety of personalities across different teamsPreferredCSCStrong working knowledge or Windows and Microsoft productivity products (Outlook, Excel, Word)Basic knowledge and understanding of brokerage operation processesClient service experiencePrevious settlements or operations experience an assetCOMPETENCIES:
