A journey defined by a destination; to deliver on our purpose.Let us tell you about the roleWe have an opportunity to join the first line Portfolio Management team in the position of Head of Portfolio Management. You will develop clear and deliverable credit decisioning strategies that help build growth in the balance sheet on commercially acceptable terms, whilst supporting business line objectives and FRM principles, collaborating closely with the Risk Partner when developing customer and portfolio insights.You will interpret and embrace modelling concepts, modelling outputs and independent sources of benchmarking data in order to influence risk appetite and positively impact customer outcomes through delivery of a model driven automation agenda. This will include credit decisioning across the customer lifecycle (onboarding credit decisions, in-life credit stewardship, and early/late stage credit monitoring and management) in addition to Management Insight development to aid data driven business growth.What will your day look like?

  • Using modelled outputs to improve the efficacy of credit underwriting of customer proposals.
  • Set the standard for improving customer satisfaction with a value-add proposition through automated underwriting.
  • Assess and deploy LEAN process improvement techniques using modelled outputs to improve business performance.
  • Development of automated decision making and leverage the use of scorecard and model development.
  • Drive risk-based pricing.
  • Using portfolio metrics and KPIs to measure credit and wider business performance in a way that informs a truly customer centric approach to underwriting, using a broad range of data sources.
  • Working closely with the second line to identify emerging credit and macroeconomic risks.
  • An understanding of the market dynamics which are driving changes in the value of New and Used Vehicles, making suitable and proactive adjustments in response to any perceived changes to the long-term underlying outlook for vehicle valuations.
  • Provide guidance for underwriting/system processing and the wider business to identify and quantify overall risk and deliver an enhanced customer application process;
  • Develop originations strategy, collections and pre-delinquency strategies, as and where appropriate.

What do we expect from you

  • Degree in a numerate subject and proven relevant work experience, coupled with knowledge of advanced statistical and analytical techniques.
  • Experience in SAS, R or other programming languages.
  • Effective communicator, sharing insight that translates technical concepts into clear and understandable language, listening to and encouraging active collaboration amongst stakeholders.
  • Understanding of best practice in credit risk management, and credit scoring methods/application.
