Help get better trained personnel to the front line fasterSelborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver “better trained sailors to the front line faster”.Joining an existing team based at HMNB Devonport – Plymouth, you will deliver high quality training in Meteorology and Oceanography.Role to start in 2025Job title: Training Delivery Instructor (Oceanography and Meteorology)Job Description:What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering Professional Training in Oceanography and Meteorology to the Royal Navy
- Instructing in Mathematics and Science in relation to Oceanography and Meteorology
- Planning and delivering active engaging lessons (face to face & practical)
- Setting, marking and assessing written and verbal assignments up to foundation degree or equivalent level
- Providing subject matter expertise input into the Training Design activities including Learning and Assessment Specifications and low level media production
- Responsible for the duty of care of trainees under your control.
What we’re looking for:
- BSc or higher in Oceanography/Meteorology or close equivalent
- Practical forecasting experience (desirable)
- Hold, or have held, WMO258 Accreditation / AMF or equivalent Aviation Forecasting Qualification (desirable)
- Any teaching/training would be beneficial
- Must be able to gain SC clearance

The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN. - Salary is negotiable depending upon skills between £34,000 & £37,500
