The school itself is an outstanding educational setting, and as health staff we have a brilliant working relationship with our educational colleagues.As part of the role, you would be working directly alongside qualified therapists and other therapy assistants to help with assessments, and implement care plans that have subsequently been developed. The children that attend the school are aged between 3-19. They are an inspirational group of young people who will always make you smile, and play a huge role in creating the fun, enjoyable environment that we work in.The team itself work closely with other members of the Multidisciplinary team, including Special Needs Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists and Education colleagues. You will gain valuable experience and skills in working directly with the children and young people, including the use of children’s therapy equipment, communication skills and hydrotherapy.If this sounds like a role you would be interested in we would love to hear from you! Please give us a call if you have any other questions at allMain duties of the job– Working alongside qualified Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and other therapy assistants to complete assessments and interventions in the special school environment– Completion of care plans with children both in the department, and potentially in class environments– Liaison with other members of the MDT– Management of stock and liaison with appropriate individuals re ordering– Use of Paediatric equipment e.g standing frames, specialised seating, Orthotics– Completion of hydrotherapy sessions– Inputting of clinical data and records into EMIS Web system– Answering, making and directing calls into the departmentAbout usMid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond.
